the scent of things i remember

As a perfume lover, I thought it would be interesting to compose a few fragrances inspired by memorable chapters of my life. This actually used to be a huge tiktok trend a while back, haha (or actually it still might be).

I've always had a tendency to associate certain memories with particular scents. Sometimes, all it takes is catching a whiff of something familiar and I get hit by a insane wave of nostalgia.

With that in mind, I tried to capture a few of those fleeting moments :

1.

Scent of violin rosin, decade old carpet on the floor, the shelves are filled with aging sheet music paper and dusty books. An old slavic teacher is yelling at you while you're forced to practice the same passage over and over again, you can smell the bitter coffee on her breath, a faint, salty trace of perspiration lingers beneath the scene.

2.

Juicy sweetnes of nectarines that are a little bit too ripe, decorative pots with blooming petunias outside on the veranda, soft clover blooming in the countryside garden, while condensed milk and honey create a creamy, comforting sweetness. You get to hangout with your grandma and grandpa once again.

3.

The forest is still wet from yesterday's rain. Nobody has spoken for a while, you're too focused on scanning the forest floor for a delicious mushroom. All you can see is velvety moss and crushed ferns beneath your feet.Soft musk adds the warmth of skin beneath layers of clothing.

4.

Midnight mass at your old, freezing church. You managed to sneak some gingerbread cookies before venturing out into the cold night. Lithurgical colors of white and gold adorning the priest's robes. The scent of burning myrh lingers on your winter coat till the next morning.

5.

Scratched wooden tables and decades old worn out leather chairs, the barista lights up an insence stick. Drinking espresso to chase away the fatigue that comes with the november exam season.

I'm curious, which of these fragrances piqued your interest the most? And if any of you decide to give this trend a try, pls let me know in the comments! I'd absolutely love to see what scents you'd come up with.

Sincerely,

Teresa
